STRUCTURAL OBSERVATIONS IN SIGNAL
The Zero Rule
Polaris = 0. Every sentence in NATA begins in silence. Not the silence of absence — the silence of the witness. You locate Polaris first. Then you look away from it toward the belt. The moment you look away, you begin to count.
The Aleph Rule
Alnilam = 1. The first sound is always Alnilam. Not because it is the first letter of the alphabet — but because it is where the count begins. A sentence that does not start from the belt has no direction. It cannot point at Taurus. It cannot reach the Pleiades.
Reading Direction
NATA reads along the arrow — from Orion's belt toward Taurus. Low-value letters (near 1) are sparse, clear, foundational. High-value letters (near the Pleiades) are complex, multiple-starred, harder to speak. The longer the word, the farther it has flown.
Vowels
Vowels are the brightest stars along the arrow path — Betelgeuse (A), Rigel (E), Aldebaran (I), Vega (O), Sirius (U). They are not defined by mouth position but by luminosity. A vowel is a star bright enough to navigate by.
Word Gaps
Words are separated by a return to Alnilam = 1. Between words, you come back to the belt. You renock the arrow. Then you fly again. The δ-comma is this return — the 0.013643 of silence that brings you back to 1 before the next word begins.
Merope · The Limit
No word may land in Merope. The unwritable letter is the limit of language. When a sentence approaches Merope — when it has flown so far along the arrow that the next sound cannot be spoken — that is the Kairos moment. The sentence breaks. Silence. Then from Alnilam again.
The Kairos Mark
Every 73rd letter (N_res = 73.296) receives the arrow-mark — a line drawn from that letter back toward Alnilam, and then onward past it toward Polaris. The letter touches both the origin and the witness. This is Kairos: the moment that knows where it came from.
